My Dermalogica Mini Travel Collection | Lisa's Beauty Spot

My Dermalogica Travel Mini's Collection

Hey everyone! I've been using Dermalogica products now for about 2 years. I found it so great and really good for my skin. I was quite worried about the price at first, so I went for the mini's to test them out, and to see if they really do what they say on the bottle. And ALAS! They do!

I had my first Dermalogica facial done in Leeds, when I was living there. It was done in Harvey Nichols, and for £20 it was a bargain. They used the Ultra Calming products, including the Ultracalming Cleanser which is a fantastic product, if you're ever around one of the Dermalogica little shop, stall things (usually in big shopping centres like Westfield, London) I'd seriously recommend having a facial. It's lovely and your skin feels so great and clean afterwards.

Okay, so on to the products I own. I own these seven mini's. I also have a few larger products as well, that I bought after trying the mini's. I will write about these soon. So, the seven mini's I own are:

  • The Daily Microfoliant
  • The Special Cleansing Gel
  • The Ultracalming Cleanser
  • The Skin Hydrating Booster
  • The Age Reversal Eye Complex
  • A smaller Skin Hydrating Booster
  • Soothing Eye Make Up Remover

I will write a small bit about a seven telling you what I liked, and which is my favourite and why.

Daily Microfoliant

The Daily Microfoliant is the first product I use on my skin after I've washed it, to get all grim and dirt off. It smells beautiful, it smells like oats. It's a dry product, so you put a small amount on your hand, add some water, rub your hands together and it foams up. When you don't feel it as rough anymore, rub on your face and it exfoliates and cleans out pores. When you've finished, wash off your face. The size of this is 13grams. I used this when I went to America back in February to remove my make up on the plane, so I could get some sleep. It was great. I've pretty much used all this, and now have a bigger one. I believe this one cost £13.50. It lasted about 4 months and really did my skin good, hence why I bought a bigger one.

 Age Reversal Eye Complex

This is my newest mini product. I actually got this for free when I bought another product. I've found it to be deeply moisturising underneath my eyes. The lady who sold it to me said she uses it for, and was surprised how tight it makes the bags under her eyes feel. I've used it once or twice and have liked how deeply moisturising it is, and how light it feels when applied. I'm not sure if I'd recommend it, I haven't used it enough to be 100% about it. This is the 5ml size, the full size is 15ml and costs £59.40.

Skin Hydrating Booster

This is my favourite Dermalogica product - period! I suffer with very dry and dehydrated skin, and when I was having my last facial the lady doing it told me the dehydration had gotten a bit worse and she recommended using the Skin Hydrating Booster two times a day. Once in the morning and the other before bed. I bought the 7ml for around £18. I've been using it for ten months and the dehydration has improved and is practically not there anymore. I ran out of that tiny bottle after just under six months, which is amazing. I then bought the 30ml for... wait for it... £52.70! But, it's the best £52.70 I've ever spent, and the compliments on my skin even when I just use this is amazing. You put a few drops on your hand and rub it on the dehydrated areas, and then let it soak in. You notice the difference in a day. If you use it consistently you will notice the dehydrated patches improve greatly. I seriously recommend this product!

Ultracalming Cleanser

This is my second favourite Dermalogica product, and the first I ever bought. It's from the Ultra Calming collection and it's great. You put a two pence size of product on your hand, then you mix it with water and apply to damp skin. You then rub it in, not too hard but enough to cleanse. You then wash off with warm water and a wash cloth. It leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed. I bought this 50ml travel size for for £10.60. I went through it in about three months. I used it everyday in those three months. I then bought the 500ml bottle for £48 and I'm maybe... half way through it? And I've been using it the big bottle for around seven months. I would seriously recommend this product. It's great for sensitive skin, it doesn't flare my skin up at all. I always enjoy using it. It smells gorgeous as well, it smells like lavender and oats.

Special Cleaning Gel

I bought the Special Cleansing Gel the same time as I bought the Skin Hydrating Booster. This product is great for helping smooth out your skin before you apply your make up. During one of my facial consultations I told the lady who was doing it that my make up doesn't seem to sit on my face properly, because of my dry and dehydrated skin, I then use the Skin Hydrating Booster. She recommended using a small amount of product mixed with warm water then massaged into damp skin. You then rinse it off with warm water and a wash cloth. It smells very similar to the Ultra Calming Cleanser. I bought this 30ml bottle for only £5 which I thought was great! I'm about 3/4 of the way through it, as you only need a small amount. I bought this the same day I bought the bigger bottle of the Skin Hydrating Booster. I don't have a bigger bottle of this, but it comes in two bigger sizes. The 250ml bottle costs £28 and the 500ml bottle costs £49. I would recommend this product to anyone who has dry skin, and who has problems with their make up sitting properly on their skin.

Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover

This make up remover is great. It's good for anyone with a sensitive eye area, like me. I used to use make up remover wipes and they used to make my eyes sore. I mentioned this to one of the ladies at the Dermalogica and she suggested using the Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover. I don't wear heavy eye make-up, but I do wear mascara and sometimes eye shadow. To use you put a small amount of product on a wet cotton pad, and massage around the eye area gently, until all the eye make up comes away and dissolves. It doesn't make my eyes sore at all, it is very soothing. It does remove the majority of eye make-up. and it can be used to remove lip make-up as well. I'd say on one eye it took around 4-5 sweeps of the cotton pad to remove all of my eye make-up. I can't remember how much this 30ml bottle cost, but I know the 118ml bottle costs £21.70. I would recommend this to anyone who has a sensitive eye or lip area. It's a lot better than make-up removal wipes. It smells (once again) similar to the Ultra Calming Cleanser.

Have any of you used these products? What did you think? If not, have you used any of
Dermalogica's products and what did you think of them?
