NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in shade Mont Blanc
Happy Easter!
On my recent trip to Florida, I took a trip to The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It's a great mall, so I took the opportunity to visit the large Sephora store there. I had wanted to buy the NARS Sheer Glow foundation for a while and I know I'm really late to join the bandwagon as this is many peoples go to foundation... So I decided to get it whilst I was away. I had a lovely lady help me, I was pretty sure what shade I was going to be but I thought I'd better be safe than sorry, they used the Colour IQ machine and it came up I was the shade Mont Blanc, like I'd guessed.
The Sephora site describes it as "A glowing, satin-finish with sheer and buildable coverage." It's medium coverage, but it can definitely be built to full coverage. It's matte finish, and it really doesn't feel like you're wearing anything at all. It's a liquid foundation with a very silky feel, it's fragrance free and suitable for normal and dry skin types. It has no SPF in it, it also comes in 20 different shades, which are mainly yellow toned.
Pro's
- It's very long lasting! It lasted me a 10hr flight from Miami to London... And I slept for two hours! I wore it on a very hot Florida day and it didn't budge, and I was sweating and quite stressed out. I am so impressed with that!
- It is very buildable, it is a medium coverage foundation but you can build it up to full coverage. I love having that choice.
- It's good for sensitive and dry skin, which is great. My skin is very sensitive and dry. It's prone to breakouts, and is badly flaky.
- It comes in a wide range of shades, 19 to be specific. A wide array of yellows, reds and pinks.
Con's
- The bottle DOESN'T come with a pump... I don't know why! This deeply saddens me.
- It is expensive... £31. But, I do think it's worth it. A little goes a long way.
- The lid gets really grubby, really fast.
- If you want a sheer finish foundation, this is not the foundation for you, it is a matte finish foundation, which surprised me a lot.
Despite being called 'sheer' it doesn't leave your skin at all dewy and you don't really look like your skin is glowing either. It doesn't feel cakey or heavy on your face.
Here's a few negatives, it doesn't come with a pump - the pump costs an extra £3.. Which I didn't know, so I need to get my hands on one soon. If you have dry skin, you need to moisturise well, this can cling to your dry patches and it looks nasty.
Overall, I'm impressed with the foundation. It looks pretty and natural, and a little goes a long way. I also bought the NARS Creamy Concealer which I'll be writing about soon.
