Eight Photos of Happiness | Lisa's Beauty Spot

Eight Photos of Happiness

First of all, I'd like to say a massive thank you to my wonderful friend Laura for nominating me to do this lovely blog post! Go and follow her on Twitter she's a great person, I love her loads!

Okay, so I've gone through a fair few hundred photos, as I have a lot of lovely photos with lovely happy memories. It was tough to bring it down to a final eight but I think I've managed and I would like to share it with you.

Lisa and Marks first ever photograph

Okay, so the first and most important to me is this wonderful photo. This is the first photo of me and my boyfriend Mark that we ever took. It's extremely special because it shows true, untouched love. It was taken by accident. We were taking photos and hated them all. He looked deeply in my eyes and was telling me he loved me, and was kissing me. I went to put my phone down, but the camera was still on and I heard a 'click' - I looked and saw this. I was so happy. It's very sentimental and I love it.

My Sixteenth Birthday

You might not be able to tell because it's not that obvious, but this photo is from my 16th birthday ( :P ) - taken on the 15th February 2010 this photo is filled with happiness because I remember feeling like I'd hit a point in my life where I started to feel more grown up and responsible (poor me, who wants to grow up?!) I also had a lovely meal, had my nails done and walked around my home town with loads of badges, a sash and that wonderful balloon. Not much has changed, and you will see that soon! I was extremely excited for my sixteenth birthday, all the sweet sixteen stuff! It was a lovely day, and was very memorable.

My Nineteenth Birthday in New York City

I love this photo so much! This was taken on my nineteenth birthday and Mark surprised me with a trip to New York! It was my first time in New York City and I was so happy it was unreal! It was a surprise trip, I had no idea I was going - I thought I was going to Dublin, but I didn't find out until we turned into the Virgin Atlantic part of Heathrow Airport. We were taken by a chauffeur from Mark's parents' house to Heathrow Airport. Mark told me that his Dad was supposed to take us to Heathrow, but he had 'car trouble' so he's had to call a cab to take us. It turned out to be a smartly dressed driver, who was briefed by Virgin not to mention anything about Virgin or our flight until we turned in to the private Upper Class check in. Mark also arranged for us to have lounge access in the Virgin Lounge (Which is exclusively for Gold Members and Upper Class Passengers) but there is a deal you can buy, for the chauffeur car and lounge access. We flew in Premium Economy to John. F. Kennedy Airport in New York. He even arranged for the crew to make an announcement on the tannoy to get the plane to sing 'Happy Birthday' to me... I WAS SO EMBARESSED. I hid my face. This fountain is gorgeous, it's now one of my favourite places in New York. I have another photo of me on my twentieth birthday sitting here. So many happy memories. We spent 4 days in New York. My workplace at the time refused to give me longer off (complete dick move - I was so pissed)

My Twentieth Birthday: Pro Makeover

I really love this photo! This was taken on my twentieth birthday, in the Hilton: Times Square - NEW YORK! Lovely hotel! So, this is February 15th 2014 and once again, this picture has a wonderful history behind it. I started celebrating my birthday at 7pm US time (12am UK time) on the 14th February - about 15 minutes before I'd gone down to McDonald's to buy me and Mark a couple of Mac Snack Wraps each and a vanilla and chocolate milkshake (I know you know what a milkshake is, but I wanted to show you how amazing American McDonald's milkshakes are, if you've never been or aren't from America!) Anyway - I danced around the hotel room like a melon, singing 'Lisa it's your birthday' which is my birthday song! We went to bed around midnight and woke around 6am. Mark then went off to make the final plans with the hotel concierge whilst I went down to get us a table for breakfast. He booked me a hair and make up session at the lovely Oscar Blandi Salon (If you're ever in New York go and have your hair done there, they are all amazing!) I had my hair and make up done and here is the end result. I had my first smokey eye done, which I loved! In the evening I bought an outfit from H&M in Times Square (wearing in the photo) and we went out for a lovely meal!

My first Jim Davidson show and meeting him after the show

So back in late 2012 I booked front row tickets to go and watch Jim Davidson live! To anyone who doesn't know who Jim is, he's an outspoken, hilarious, down-to-earth stand up comedian. He won Celebrity Big Brother in 2014. He also won New Faces in 1976. He got caught up in that horrible scandal when it was found out that Jimmy Saville.. Well, you know. Jim was arrested and charged, but it was found out he hadn't done it, the girl who claimed he had, had never even met Jim. She just wanted to line her pockets. Anyway, so I went to see him in Clacton on the 18th August 2013. The show was at the West Cliff Theatre which is a lovely, quant theatre. It's very small so it was quite a personal show. It was very funny and we had a great time. We went to see him again in 2014 in Great Yarmouth, we met him again and had another photo taken, and he signed his biography for us! The 2014 photo can be viewed here. We also met the lovely Lloyd Hollett in Great Yarmouth, who was Jim's support act. He was fantastic, and I am a huge fan. We had a lovely chat and another great photo. If you want to see that photo it can be viewed here

Doctor Who: Deep Breath - Early Release

I won us tickets to go and see an early release of Peter Capaldi's first episode as the Doctor. It was a great day. Mark got to ask Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and Steven Moffat a question. I have that video somewhere - I may be biast but Mark asked an original question compared to the normal rubbish questions during a Q&A. After the episode and the Q&A we waited outside for Peter to come out and meet us. It was amazing, he signed a magazine saying 'To Lisa - Best Wishes - Peter Capaldi x' I have a picture of the signature. I was really happy, he was really lovely, genuine and down to earth. I hope to meet him again. I've also met Jenna Coleman, Sylvester McCoy, Colin Baker and loads more Doctor Who stars at the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebrations - another competition I'd won!

My 21st Birthday

My most recent birthday. 15th February 2015. This photo was taken at Heathrow Airport, and this is Terminal 4. Mark took me out for a meal to the Miller and Carter Steakhouse in Ruislip. As I mentioned in my photo about my sixteenth birthday, not much has changed. I still love to wear badges and have a balloon for my birthday! We spent two days at the Hilton Terminal 4 hotel and left for America on the 17th February. Once again (As we always will) we flew Virgin. We spent just over six weeks in America (New York and Florida) we came back on the 27th March. Unfortunately, we actually left earlier than planned. I got second degree burns to my back, shoulder and legs. My medication made my skin more sensitive to the sun, and even though I used suncream I still got horrendous burns. I have been scarred from it, but not as bad as we thought. So even though we had a scary time, it makes me happy knowing it could have been much worse, and I am extremely grateful I've began a great healing process, and the holiday celebration apart from that was amazing.

My first camel ride

So, my final photo is the most recent one. This photo was taken at the Central Florida Zoo - I've always wanted to go for a camel ride, and when I saw that the opportunity was there, I grabbed it with both hands! It cost $5 and it was worth it, it was so fun! The camel was awesome! We walked around a part of the zoo, and then posed for this photo! The zookeeper turned his head around and the camel posed for the photo. It was amazing day out. I hope we can go back, and I will definitely do this again!

If you're reading this, I'd recommend you do this blog post! It's really fun and I smiled a lot whilst doing it - seeing all these photos, some I haven't seen in a while.
